| COMPANY HISTORY: American made Dirt King Tricycles was
formed in 1983 under the company name Midwest Manufacturing &
Contracting by inventor and maker Jim Funk. Jim Funk has gone on to
invent other high quality toys and is responsible for the back
scooter foot-brake you find on various toy scooters today.
In 1998, Dirt King created the “Dually” or “Heavy-Duty” Tricycle and
the “Adult Dually” or “Adult Trike/Big Kids” tricycle. Later, Jim
created and manufactured the “Spin About” and “ActiLift” products.
In 2009, Jim Funk and Bob Funk sold their company to Senne Company
and renamed the company to MCM Manufacturing, Inc. Jim and Bob Funk
currently are shareholders and actively work in similar positions
under new MCM Manufacturing, Inc. ownership.
Through the years, the Dirt King tricycle has been labeled under
different brand names used by well-known corporations (all are now
overseas with different design and parts) and presently MCM
Manufacturing, Inc. builds the tricycle under their own brand name
Dirt King. Dirt Trax is the only other current brand that you can
find this tricycle craftsmanship under. With over 30,000 trikes sold
and not one unsatisfied customer, Dirt King has been quoted as “The
World’s Best Tricycle” and continues to offer their lifetime
warranty to happy customers and will remain American made.
